The author was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1962.He graduated with a B.A. from University College Dublin in 1982.He received a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from the College of Marketing & Design in 1984.Due to the economic stagnation which was rampant in Ireland at the time, the author emigrated to Germany, where he lived and worked between the years 1986-1992.The Author emigrated to America in 1992, where he lived and worked up until the year 2002 and this book " American Nightmare " is about his experiences during that ten year period.

8. Memphis - Cordova
Cordova, itself, seemed to be a pretty decent, even affluent suburb of Memphis.His dwelling was located in a vast apartment complex the likes of which I had never seen before, that contained, at least, two hundred individual apartments located within the complex.It included a host of facilities which the residents could use free of charge, such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, a gym, and a launderette to name but a few.These type of housing complexes were a new experience for me and, in many ways, gave me an insight into the culture that I had emmigrated into.Of course, as I was to discover later, these type of apartment complexes are very typical of many southern American suburbs.
